A relaxing vacation getaway for families and honeymooners! Or an adventure packed outdoor recreation experience! Either can be yours when you stay at WV Log Cabins.

Our Luxury Log Cabins are located on the banks of a private trophy trout stream, the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River. These riverside log cabins have a spectacular view twice featured in Wonderful West Virginia Magazine.

Within the Monongahela National Forest, our cabins are located in the West Virginia Mountains near Seneca Rocks and Smoke Hole Caverns in the heart of the Spruce Knob - Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. Nestled in the foothills of the Dolly Sods Wilderness this lodging location offers access to outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, skiing, horseback riding, golfing, trout fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing.

These rental cabins are available year-round. Each cabin is fully furnished. The one bedroom cabins have an indoor Jacuzzi Tub for a Romantic Getaway. The two, three and four bedroom family cabins have a private outdoor Hot Tub. All vacation cabins have a fireplace, DSS Sat TV with DVD player, fully appointed kitchens, dish washer, linens and towels.

Riverside Luxury Log Cabins: Our WV cabins our considered luxury, because of the log construction, private hot tub, gas fireplace, amenities in the cabins, extras such as dishwasher, Jacuzzi, TVs, Wifi, A/C and location of this log cabin resort.

Appalachian Log Structures, Inc. is our log supplier of choice. The most recently built cabin is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom with over 2200 sq. ft. a 50" TV, pool table, private outdoor Hot Tub, and washer/dryer. You're not roughing it when you stay with us.

We are truly riverside, river front, and very near the river. Each of these riverside WV rental cabins is less than 300 feet from the North Fork River. A view of the river is directly off the porch of each cabin. We offer one of the best WV lodging facilities.

Attractions: Our log cabins are located in Cabins, WV. Nearby attractions include Smoke Hole Caverns one of the most beautiful caverns on the East Coast; Seneca Caverns the longest Cavern in West Virginia; Spruce Knob the highest mountain in WV; Dolly Sods Wilderness Area; Seneca Rocks; the Smoke Hole Recreation area; Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls State Park.

State Parks and Recreation Areas: Our West Virginia rental cabins are located within the 1st National Recreation Area established by congress in 1965, Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks NRA. This recreation area contains one of the best rock climbing walls, Seneca Rocks; the highest mountain in West Virginia measuring 4863 ft, Spruce Knob; as well as a Wilderness Area, Dolly Sods. Just a short drive from the cabins is Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley State Parks and Lost River State Park. All of these locations are within the Monongahela National Forest, a 900,000 acre national forest within West Virginia.

Fishing: Trout and bass fishing are a passion of many of our customers. Our WV rental cabins are truly riverfront. The stream in front of your log cabin is privately stocked with trophy trout. The stream is managed as an artificial lures only catch and release stream. The stream is privately stocked by Harman's with rainbow, brown and brook trout. Two other Catch and Release sections of stream are located at Seneca Rocks and Smoke Hole.

The State of WV stocks an additional 52 miles of stream with trout nearby. The North Fork River from Riverton to Cabins and the South Branch River from Franklin to Big Bend are stocked 12 weeks in a row from March to early June, then two times in October. The state managed put and take sections of stream are great for catching your evening dinner. The Smoke Hole Section of the South Branch River is the best trophy trout steam in WV.

The South Branch River is a great summer bass fishing experience. The stream in the Smoke Hole section is accessible from a state rural route. The south branch from the Gap Bridge to the Fisher Bridge is managed as a catch and release stream. These 9 miles of stream have an abundant number of black bass, but is only accessible by canoe.

Wildlife Viewing: These WV Mountains contain abundant wildlife. Wildlife such as the black bear, whitetail deer, beaver, trout, bald eagles and cardinals just to name a few can be viewed. Two state fish hatcheries Petersburg and Spring Run Hatcheries produce rainbow, brown, brook and golden trout. The nations 500th National Wildlife Refuge is located in Canaan Valley. Bird Watching is a major pastime for visitors to Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob, North Fork Mountain and Canaan Valley. The bald and golden eagles have reestablished nests on the South Branch River Trough; flying eagles can be seen at the cabins as well.

Horseback riding: Horseback riding outfitters located at Seneca Rocks can provide a experience second to none. Yukom's Stables will take you and your family to the top of Seneca Rocks on horses. The views at the top are awesome. The trip up and back down is a great adventure for everyone.

Rock Climbing: Rock climbing at Seneca Rocks is world known. It is the biggest rock climbing wall east of the Mississippi River with cliffs of 900ft. Climbing schools near Seneca Rocks guide customers adventuring to the rocks.

Seneca Rocks Mountain Guides has developed "indoor rock walls" designed to introduce and reinforce techniques in a controlled environment. Outdoor SRMG has a novice rock climbing wall to get the younger children started. While attached to a harness and support, the climber tries different paths to the top.

Another outfitting school, Seneca Rocks Climbing School has been offering climbing instructions for over 30 yrs. It is one of the oldest climbing schools on the east coast. Both offer novice, beginner and expert climbing courses.

If climbing is not for you, Nelson Rocks Via Ferrata may be. Via Ferrata is a mountain climbing route with a safety system permanently installed? Nelson Rocks is only the second of its kind in the United States.

Canoeing, White Water Rafting: Canoeing on the local rivers by renting from Eagle's Nest Outfitters or bringing your own canoe. At Eagles Nest Customers are finding that duckies allow them to experience the thrill of white water kayaking without the investment in training. Sit-on Kayaks can be used for paddling slower waters. Eagles Nest shuttle service will drop you off and pick you up. Trips thru Smoke Hole and the Trough are customer favorites.

White water rafting on the cheat river and yough river Rafting trips can be handled by Cheat River Outfitters or Upper Yough Expeditions. Both of these outfitters will work with you to plan a trip on class III water for beginners or Class V water for experts.

Train Excursions: Multiple train excursions are just a short trip from the cabins. For big mountain views Cass Scenic Railroad State Park is recommended. The railroad is known for the old Shay engines used on this trip. These Shays were the heart of the logging industry when WV led the nation with over 3000 miles of logging railroad lines. The Cheat Mountain Salamander takes you along the Shavers River to the High Falls of the Cheat. The Potomac Eagle Excursion is best known for eagle sightings on the trip. The train travels along the South Branch River where many bald and golden eagles can be viewed during the trip.

Skiing, snowboarding, and tubing: If you are looking for some of the best slopes on the east coast; Canaan Valley and the Timberline ski areas are a short distance away. Skiing, snowboarding, and tubing are all available. Snowshoe Mountain is a longer trip. Stay with us to reduce your lodging costs, then day trip to these ski mountains for fun in the snow

Golfing: Golfing in the mountains can be a treat. With the WV Mountains as a back drop, golfing can only be more of an outdoor experience. At Canaan Valley's Geoffrey Cornish-designed golf course enjoy a WV championship course. A local course nestled in the South Branch Valley of the Potomac Highlands Valley View Golf Club is one of the Mid-Atlantic's best kept secrets. For the kids Put-Put Golf can be found at Seneca Caverns or Canaan Valley.
