Item Description

This thought-provoking auction package offers a trio of classic lesbian films produced throughout this past decade. Each film is a memorable production that you will want to share with friends over and over again. The films in this package include:

  1. Gigola: In the 1960s, bourbon and money flowed freely in the Parisian neighborhood of Pigalle. Here, the city came alive at night behind closed curtains and in the company of mob men, gender-bending performers and prostitutes who made love without boundaries. Then there was Georgia – alias Gigola – a temptress who dressed like a refined young man and used her charm and wits to rise to the top of the urban underworld. Still haunted by the suicide of her first mistress, Gigola sparks a string of torrid affairs with enchanted women, like Cora, a young barmaid, or Odette, an old aristocrat who lavishes her with extravagant gifts in exchange for sexual favors.

Based on the long-censored novel of the same name, Gigola captures a little-known chapter in Parisian history in which eroticism defied conventional morals. Delightfully filmed with an old-fashioned sense of theatricality, Laure Charpentier’s directorial debut is above all a portrait of an audacious woman who forged her own trail through life.

  2. Leading Ladies: Filled with warm (and wacky) family drama, this fabulous comedy about two sisters, their gay best friend (“So You Think You Can Dance” winner Benji Schwimmer), and their overzealous stage mother (legendary ballroom diva Melanie LaPatin) serves up a tale of uplifting gay affirmation — and exceptional choreography! With one sister pregnant and the other coming out of the closet and falling in love the whole family is hustling to stay on top in the wild world of competitive ballroom dance.

  3. Trigger: This is the story of a friendship between two women. Victoria “Vic” Sawchyn and Kathryn “Kat” Lake are friends from childhood who started a neighborhood band together — sort of like the Go-Go’s meet Patti Smith with a little Siouxsie and the Banshees thrown in. Sticking to their rock ‘n’ roll dream, they continued to trade up bands until they began to have real success with a hit single and a European tour. On the tour, things went to hell and, due to egos and drugs and rock n‘ roll, the band imploded as did the friendship. Now it’s 10 years later and a local record label is having a benefit concert to honor women in rock; Vic and Kat are expected to attend. They meet for dinner and it is clear that, although there is a desire to make amends, it’s unclear to each of the women who really needs to apologize. As we travel with them on a trip to the concert and a late night after-party, their stories are revealed and the true nature of their friendship is discovered.
