Item Description
This one of a kind scarf is felted entirely by hand using the nuno felting technique, which involves many steps - ultimately the raw wool and 100% silk fabric is transformed into a one of a kind piece of wearable art. It can be hand washed in cold water and laid out to dry; a light steaming with your iron will keep its shape set beautifully. It was made in a smoke- and pet-free studio.
Janice is a feltmaker with a passion for international textile traditions who loves making custom pieces that reflect the personality and sensibilities of her customers. As a student of Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, working with wool is a wonderful practice in mindfulness, being happy and allowing the wool to do its thing. Credential-wise, she has been lucky to study with some of the best feltmakers internationally and have a degree in art history.
Item Special Note
Scarf measurements is 8" wide x 73" long. Although extremely lightweight, this scarf will provide a good deal of warmth because of the properties of the material.
