WHEN:  4 Sessions on Friday, 2:30 - 5:00 pm ( Nov 11, 18, Dec 2, 9  or 4 Sessions on Saturday, 1:00 - 3:30 pm (Nov 12, 19, Dec 3, 10)

FEE: $65 adults; $55 children; + $10 studio fee

Located at Lincoln Street Center’s clay studio, 24 Lincoln St., Studio #8, ground floor.  Create beautiful figures in clay just in time for the holidays.  Using the studio extruder primarily...a great tool that allows even beginners to produce tall, impressive pieces, students will use their imagination and personal vision of “angels” as a starting point to produce clay pieces that express their artistic visions of heavenly beings.

We will make pieces that can be  works of art on pedestals, hung from hooks for decoration, garden pieces, and even to mark special spots like a pet’s resting place!

Students will be free to add coil, slab or even wheel thrown elements to create their special imaginative pieces (not necessarily restricted to angels!), either realistic or abstract....no limits or restrictions on creativity or technique. A studio fee of $10 will be taken at the first class which will include all clay and glazes and 3 fired pieces.  Additional pieces may be fired for an extra fee.

Otty Merrill is a skilled clay artist who has taught pottery, printmaking and encaustic art in many venues over the years, including Haystack Mountain School in Deer Isle, the Sherborn Mass. Arts Center, DeCordova Museum of Art in Lincoln, Mass., Round Top in Damariscotta.  She maintains a studio in Tenants Harbor where her work is shown exclusively at Mars Hall Gallery in Port Clyde.

All items and gift certificates may be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office on One Park Drive in Rockland. Gift certificates will be mailed to the winners at no charge. If the winner is unable to pick up an item, it will be shipped to them and they will be responsible for all shipping and handling fees, which will be added to the winning bid amount. Items will be shipped and billed at standard industry rates.
