Item Description
Spacious, newly constructed, energy efficient retreat/rental home on a working sheep farm. Nestled in our own private valley midway between Middlebury and Vergennes, Treleven Annex is perfect for parents visiting students in the area, college alums, or families looking for a vacation close to major events and attractions. We offer a relaxing stay on a working three generation farm. You can do all of your own cooking (perhaps using the fresh produce from our farm gardens) or enjoy the many excellent local dining opportunities. Nearby attractions include hiking in the Green and Adirondack Mountains (and many less strenuous trails closer by); shopping at the studios of local artists and artisans; attending farmers markets, concerts, plays and movies; visiting the area's wonderful local and nationally known museums, and just laying back to enjoy the changing of the seasons.
The retreat and educational options provided by the on-farm non-profit (Treleven, Inc.) are available to you and may be just the perfect alternative to a larger Elder Hostel type event. Our extended family will be happy to introduce you to the neighborhood (mostly cows and dairy farms) and to suggest our own favorite excursions (host Don Mitchell wrote the Fodors Compass guidebook to Vermont).
Item Special Note
We are happy to have you participate in the seasonal activities of the farm, or to arrange a private guided meditation for you or your family.
It is an open space set up: There is a sleeping loft that has one queen mattress and an area that can be closed off with moveable wooden screens with another queen mattress.
Dates subject to availability, please call us at 802-545-2278 to arrange. See http://treleven.wordpress.com/ for more details.
