Item Description

This towering treat-fest is fit for a queen!

John and Kira's features gourmet, artisan chocolate gifts and handmade confections for all occasions. They're a favorite of Gourmet magazine, Martha Stewart Living and Consumer Reports. And with this Beehive Tower, they bring their gourmet artisan goodies to you.

The Beehive Tower starts with John and Kira's celebrated assorted chocolates. These chocolates put John and Kira's on the map, in 2003 when Gourmet  featured them on the cover and declared them to be their "favorite chocolates." You'll enjoy a fiesta of flavors including Garden Mint, Glenn's Raspberry, Mut Vitz Coffee Whiskey, Lavender Honey, Glenn's Strawberry, Papohaku Farm Ginger, Pistachi-oh, Lingering Lemongrass, Starry Night, and Bergamot Chocolate.

Then there's those six darling chocolate bees! Not chewy like a store bought caramel, John and Kira's bee chocolates have a liquid caramel center and a clear, caramelized honey taste. This unique flavor comes naturally from the fragrant basswood honey they use, supplied by the Draper Family Apiaries in Millerton, PA. Once filled, each of the nine bees is carefully painted by hand with a paper-thin layer of yellow and black cocoa butter.

To make their chocolates, John and Kira infuse real herbs and spices into fresh cream, such as just picked garden mint or fresh young ginger from the island of Molokai in Hawaii. The infused cream is then heated and poured over amazingly complex Valrhona milk or dark chocolate and mixed until a super creamy ganache is achieved. The ganache is then poured into a frame, allowed to set for 48 hours, and cut into one and a quarter inch squares. Finally, each delicate square is enrobed in a thin layer of 62% dark Valrhona chocolate and marked by hand with a fork.

Sound too good to be true? Not for the queen bee in your life. Bid on chocolate bliss today!
