Item Description

The work presented here is a fine representation of Choisy’s work and with  Christian Choisy, what you see is what you get! Some 50 years after he began drawing at age 8, Choisy is a hot commodity in the art world. He continues to exhibit  art that nourishes the soul as much as it delights the eyes.  Employing a minimalist style, Choisy avoids provocative colors and effects in favor of subtler tones and impressions.  At 60, the artist says that he is now in search of “absolute simplicity,” with his canvasses “laid as bare as his soul.”

For Choisy, the artist’s life he leads today can be traced back to his childhood in old Bordeaux, when one day he asked his parents if he could have drawing lessons. His first teacher would be the first of many influential artists in his life. “It all began in that old Bordeaux studio,” he often says.
