Item Description
A fifth-generation Californian living in the foothills near Descanso, famed photographer Warren Marr, 61, is perhaps best known for his work in the Utah desert and in Indonesia.
Marr is drawn to patterns in natural environments, and "sees" them without touching or altering his world. He lets seasons and the shapes of things - trees, rocks, water, gardens - do the work instead.
In 1989 - 1990, Marr spent time photographing landscapes at Mono Lake, located two hundred miles east of San Francisco Bay. Mono Lake is a large, salty, ice age remnant known for the tufa formations, or towers, which line certain parts of the shoreline.
Tufa & Moon December 1990, Mono County, CA is a beautiful, almost meditative photo of georgeous limestone rock formations surrounded by water and mountains in Mono County. A full moon floats gently in the background sky.
