Item Description
What a unique opportunity!
Feel the spray of the waves, get the adrenaline rush from balancing the boat against the wind, and experience the thrill and intricacy of close-quarter, tactical sailboat racing firsthand in a 2-person, 14-foot racing dinghy right here in Cleveland.
On a boat skippered by a lifetime Cleveland sailor, you'll serve as crew for a training/practice sail on a mutually agreeable night, and then race in a scored event from the regular racing schedule of the Jet 14 Racing Fleet. Whether your goal is to learn how to sail or simply to experience a one-time thrill, sailboat racing is an intellectual and physical competition that goes back hundreds of years and utilizes Cleveland's greatest asset: Lake Erie.
This isn't a pleasure cruise, though. The Jet 14 is a two-man dinghy that weights less than 300 pounds and requires the full effort of its crew to sail. You'll compete in a fleet of boats that are all identical in design and expertly sailed on a regular basis in Cleveland and across the Northeast United States.
Item Special Note
For purposes of safety and practicality, this experience is limited to one person, under 200 pounds of weight, who is able to swim.
This offer must be redeemed during the 2012 sailing season, which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
If you're the winner of this unique experience, contact Bob Rosenbaum before May 1, 2012 to make arrangements.
