A member of the Kootenai Nation, Geri Hewankorn has been doing beadwork for many years. She grew up on the Flathead Reservation in northwest Montana. Ms. Hewankorn has recently been working to establish an artists’ cooperative on the Flathead Reservation, where she has also worked at the KwaTaqNuk tribally owned resort. In her field project work in the RDLN program, she helped bring eighteen units of self-help housing onto the Reservation with the Ktunaxa Community Development Corporation.
Donor Nancy Gaynor is an RDLN graduate, who earned her master’s degree through the RDLN program. A member of the Kootenai Nation, she has trained Indians and others in the area in entrepreneurship. She started a loan fund with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes as her RDLN Field Project.
