Item Description
Shenandoah Valley Apple Cake
Brian Noyes' Red Truck Bakery is a rural bakery in the middle of Virginia apple country. It is easy to find because of the red truck in front, bought from designer Tommy Hilfiger's nearby farm.
In their breads, pastries, and jams, Brian Noyes and his team of bakers use the freshest fruit and dairy items from nearby farms--they make it clear that they want to know where the ingredients are coming from, how they were raised and grown and whom to thank. We thank Brian for his generous auction offering: a newly introduced apple cake, already receiving rave reviews.
It's a 9-inch Bundt-style cake made with fresh local apples, local apple cider and apple sauce (no nuts or booze in this cake; they let the apples speak for themselves). Lightly spiced up with cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, and topped off with a maple syrup glaze, this really is a cake for your favorite apple lover.
