Doug Duncan, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, Sports Specialist, Fellowship Trained

Dr. Duncan is a Fellowship trained Sports specialist and Orthopedic Surgeon.  He brings advanced arthroscopic and joint reconstruction techniques.  Patients enjoy new technology and cutting edge techniques in the Shenandoah Valley.  Dr. Duncan draws from pro level experience, knowledge, and technical expertise from his work with the Pistons, Red Wings, and Tigers during his fellowship year in Detroit.  Making a positive impact to our community’s ability to serve you are his interests and expertise in complex shoulder, complex knee, and elbow, including joint restoration and cartilage and meniscus preservation techniques in joints.  He additionally has advanced arthroscopic techniques for the shoulder, knee, and elbow as well as the hip and ankle.  He also has a special interest in adolescent sports and trauma.  Dr. Duncan is the only surgeon qualified to perform reverse total shoulder in Winchester.  He also performs total shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff repair, total knee arthroplasty, and other arthroscopic procedures for our senior patients or athletes as well as younger patients or athletes trying to maximize their function or active lifestyle.  Dr. Duncan has depth and has spent time training in the SE, SW, NW, NE, and most recently the Midwest.  He served his country as a Naval flight surgeon and officer deployed with a Marine squadron.  He and his family enjoy medical mission work.  He particularly enjoys investing in our surrounding communities.  He holds privileges at Valley Health where he enjoys operating in surgery.
