Item Special Note

The Kaplan approach provides you with the direct and efficient path to successfully applying your legal knowledge the way it's tested on the bar. Here's how it works:

Step 1: Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) Foundation (6 days)

Develop an attack plan and prepare for comprehensive subject review with six 50-question exams and question-based review covering the topics on the MBE.

Step 2: Comprehensive Subject Review & Practice (up to 36 days; varies by state)

During this part of the course, you'll:

  • Learn the material through in-depth lectures and outlines:
Each day you'll internalize the subject knowledge necessary for success on the bar through a system of lectures, outlines, lecture note templates, and quick-rule summaries that will help you boil things down to the essentials.
  • Practice applying your knowledge the way the bar will test it:
Apply the law exactly the way it's tested on the bar with 4,000 exam-like MBE practice questions and explanations, previously released state essay questions, and full-length simulated MBE and State Essay exams.
  • Assess your performance:
Stay on track with detailed daily reports that reveal your mastery of each subject and topic over time and highlight the areas where you need to improve the most.
  • Strengthen your weak areas:
As you progress through the course, your daily regimen will gradually become more tailored and will recommend assignments to help you overcome your weakest areas.

Step 3: Full-Length Simulated Exams and Final Review (4 to 5 days)

Take the full-length MBE and State Essay final exams (including a Performance Test if your state requires it) under test-like conditions. Get a substantive question-based review of the MBE that highlights the finer points of the relevant law and covers the latest exam trends.

Step 4: Final Countdown Study Plan (approximately 14 days; varies by student)

At the end of your course you'll get a highly tailored set of assignments to complete during the final two weeks before you take the bar exam.

Bar Exam

Depending on your state, your bar exam will be 2 to 3 days and include essays and the MBE.
