Item Description

If you are among the 65 million Americans caring for family or friends who are ill, disabled, elderly or a special-needs child… take care!  Despite compassion and commitment, caring for others can be distressing and take a toll on your body, mind and spirit.  Throughout   The Caregiver’s Guide to Self-Care: Help for Your Caregiving Journey, you will find a wealth of insightful and sensible self-care strategies to help you care for yourself as you care for others.  Look inside to find:

  • Personal stories of one mother/daughter journey through Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Professional self-care recommendations from a psychiatric nurse.
  • Straightforward strategies for recognizing and managing caregiver stress.
  • Short questionnaires to help you think about your own experiences.
  • Practical, helpful advice on caring for your body, mind and spirit.
  • Questions to guide your personal reflection or discussions with others.
  • Selected online and print resources for further information and help.

In addition to the book, autographed by the author, you will also receive a one-hour phone conversation with the author!  This is not therapy or counseling.  Instead, it is an opportunity for you to further explore managing your caregiver stress with a person who is also walking that same path.
