Item Description

If you enjoy the changing colors of fall, then this package is for you! Retreat for a week next fall at one of the Earth's most magnificent places, Acadia National Park along the coast of Maine.

Spend the week of September 30 - October 7, 2012 at Harbor Ridge Resort in Southwest Harbor overlooking Somes Sound, the Atlantic Ocean, and the mountains of Acadia National Park. A wecolme gift basket of wine, cheese, bread and fruit will be available when you check-in on Sunday.

As a special bonus you'll receive a private, guided hike and picnic lunch for your group of up to four people with Friends of Acadia President, Marla O'Byrne. Marla will coordinate with you to arrange a hike that suits your interests and hiking level, customizing a personal Acadia experience guaranteed to provide lasting memories.

Spend the rest of the week exploring Acadia National Park and the surrounding area on your own - stroll along the streets of Bar Harbor, take a hike and/or bike ride along the Carriage trails in the park, and enjoy the Club House at Harbor Ridge. Package includes 4 complimentary tickets to the Abbe Museum in downtown Bar Harbor, featuring innovative exhibits on Maine's Native American heritage.

Also included in the package is a $50 gift certificate to The Jordan Pond House, an in-park restaurant providing lunch, tea, and dinner.

In addition, you'll receive a one-year membership to Friends of Acadia.  Your membership provides a subscription to the Friends of Acadia Journal, published three times a year. With features about Acadia National Park's history, resources, and programs, news about Friends of Acadia's projects and activities, and information about how to get involved, the Friends of Acadia Journal is a great way to stay connected to Acadia National Park, all year long.

You'll also receive a Friends of Acadia goody bag with an art poster, a few books, trail maps, and Acadia National Park pass for the week of your visit.

The Harbor Ridge townhome spans three stories and can accommodate up to 4 people. The master bedroom encompasses the upper level of the townhouse (king size bed, a lounge chair for reading a good book, and a full bath). The entry level is the middle floor with a half-bath and stackable washer/dryer unit, the living room dining area, and a fully applianced kitchen. The living room has a pull-out sleeper sofa, television, and DVD/VCR unit. The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot, toaster, blender, eating and cooking utensils.  The lower level houses another full bath and bedroom (two twin beds that can be combined to king).  Each story has a private balcony or patio. Restaurants and grocerty stores are close by.

The Club House has an indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, game room, and on-site video rentals.  It also offers a playground, an outdoor tennis court, horseshoe pits, and charcoal barbecue picnic areas.  Some of the best scenic views can be enjoyed from the clubhouse so be sure to bring your camera along.
