Artist Bio:

This work was produced by Nate Robb, a graphic designer and a natural freehand artist here in San Diego. Originally from Washington, D.C., he initially specialized in creating realistic illustrations, caricatures, greeting cards, oil pastel & sports portraiture, paintings and murals by hand, using a variety of media. The scope of his artistic abilities broadened in 1991, following his first visit to a graphic design studio. While he was immediately impressed with the digital that he saw that day, he was even more stunned that none of the designers were able to draw. This took some time for him to digest that reality, but he eventually realized that he needed to quickly become a student of graphic design.

Since that time, he has worked as both a self-employed freelance graphic designer and for a number of design studios where he’s produced a wide variety of print-based graphics and Web sites.

Nate is currently in the process of creating a new line of portraits that combine acrylic paint and digital design. He is also midway through the blueprint phase of a new Web site for his freelance business. Should you have an interest in contacting him, he can be reached via email at, ‘sportraits@yahoo.com’.

ARTISTS FOR ANIMALS.
The concept behind Nate’s pet food bowl stand stems back to his first encounter with Art Deco– the artistic style that became the catalyst for his appreciation of ‘design’.  After electing to re-visit his attraction to Art Deco, he went through numerous works of that genre, and then finally decided on the framework and colors for this piece. Although symmetry is important to him, he opted to generate an asymmetrical piece, which still manages to deliver a sense of balance. And so, after 22 hours of effort, ‘BARK DECO’ was completed.
