Local San Diego artist Kathy Chin did such a great job creating a piece of art that will benefit many! Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) Sorrento Valley sits right beside the FACE Foundation's office and we work with them often to save the lives of deserving pets! The highest bidder of this auction item will actually then donate it next door for the benefit of all visiting pooches (it's a little bit too tall for kitties!). The winning bidder of the stand will contribute to the FACE Foundation for years to come as many visitors to VSH will inquire about FACE and hopefully become future donors! Kathy did a great job of incorporating the FACE colors into her stand as well as creating a face! Check out the two eyes (bowls) and snout! Too cute!

Item Special Note

This stand is a unique one-of-a-kind piece of art! Because all stands and artwork have been sealed, they can easily be wiped down with a damp towel for easy cleaning.  It is recommended that all stands be used indoors as a precaution against the elements.

Each stand comes with two stainless steel water and food bowls (2 quart for large dog stands, 1 pint for small dog/cat stands).

Photography has always spoken to me, and as a youngster I loved taking pictures of just about everything. I followed in my father’s footsteps…but while he loved fumbling with the settings before getting the shot, I put mine on automatic and left it there. Unbeknownst to both of us, our best images were only mildly mediocre snapshots.

 Fast forward to a long career in television, and photography for the most part fell by the wayside. But after ending that career, I craved the creativity and wanted to get back behind the lens where I belonged. This time, I learned photography the right way and it has become a passion and an obsession.

 I love animals, and also discovered a delight in taking bird images. Something about flight action stirs my competitive juices (“come on little bird, land there just one more time,” or, “I know I’ve taken 365 shots of the same bird, but it’s wing/eye/feathers weren’t quite right…I'll be right there, just one more shot!”) A lot of you know exactly what I’m talking about…documenting that “birdseye view,” what could be better?

 Yet, once again, my life’s path has taken a different twist. A look at what art can add to an image sent me spiraling into a slightly different direction. Don’t go analyzing why I want to change what I see because we all know that Mother Nature is pretty perfect the way she is. Like other artists, I just want to add a little “oomph,” a little something more.  More and more of my images are "painted," and I think it will continue to happen more and more!
