Item Description
A soft and beautiful scarf handwoven on a backstrap loom by native artisans in Guatemala. It is made of loops of Italian mohair in three subtly varied colors of blue attached to a strong cotton backing. The scarf is 5” wide x 53 ½” long. This particular scarf was woven by Micaela Sosof, a Tzutujil Maya woman. She is a member of a cooperative of weavers living in villages on the shores of Lake Atitlan. These high-quality textiles are designed as functional art for the discriminating customer and provide economic incentive for the women to continue their traditional weaving.
Item Special Note
Note: The scarf should be dry cleaned. It can also be “freshened up” by steaming it lightly.
Shipping included.
