About Michelle

(Can you say girlie girl?)

Always a dreamer with an eye on creating whimsical, happy, free-spirited design, Michelle incorporates her life-long love of art and vibrant color into each piece and project. Michelle’s creations shine with her true essence and soul; each arch drawn and color selected showcases her love of life and friendship. The people around her, including her many clients who often become close friends, continue to be her most prized inspiration. Michelle loves a good love story, the promise of a sunny day, the frequent “laugh ‘til you cry” moment, and the sense of new adventure around every corner.

A born artist, and self-taught coloring extraordinaire as a child, Michelle followed her heart and dreams into the design world after nine years of retail experience with Nordstrom, seeking out an exceptional education experience at Otis College of Art and Design. After graduation, Michelle gained varied design and professional experience by working for household-name companies including Hallmark, Inc; and Target Corporation to small start-up power houses including Michel and Company, Crown Crafts Infant Products and Colorbok.

Michelle’s well-rounded background illustrates both her discipline and entrepreneurial drive. She is a trained artist with an innovative mind, always seeking the solution to any design task by way of smart, unique, inspired creation. A California native, Michelle started her own design company in 2008 and landed on Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach shortly thereafter. Her studio is as bright and as cheery as she is. She welcomes each customer to step through her bright pink door and browse her latest creations, including one that could inspire a custom-made Simply Michelle design just for you!
