Item Description

"The Golden Gates of Vladimir" is the eighth and final plate in the “Jewels of the Golden Ring”, a collection of limited-edition porcelain plates created by Master Artist Yuri Leonidovich Dubovikov of Fedoskino, the birthplace o Russian Lacquer miniatures.  This plate is produced in layers of pigment and gold in an edition limited to a maximum of 195 firings.

Depicted , a gorgeous natural landscape is the appropriate setting for three architectural wonders: the Cathedral of the Assumption, the St. Demetrius Cathedral and the Golden Gates of Vladimir. One of the greatest cities in art, Vladimir was named for Vladimir Monomakh, Prince of Kiev. He built a fortress in 1108, and by 1157 this young town became the capital of the large Vladimir-Suzdal principality, where a style of painting and architecture blossomed.

This collectable plate measures 7 3/4" in diameter and is in its original box with a Certificate of Authenticity. This is a decorative work of art, not for food use.
