Item Description
Bari Zwirn is a self taught guitarist who especially enjoys teaching beginning musicians. Whether you're a young child who has never played before, or an adult who just wants to play camp fire "sing alongs", Bari is comfortable helping you coordinate strumming, chording and singing. Focus will be on keeping rhythm, finding your vocal key, and becoming comfortable with simple styles of playing. Theory and tablature are touched on but not emphasized.
When not teaching guitar, Bari is a classroom teacher. She also plays and sings in a local folk/pop group www.woodnlips.com and helps to host a weekly open mic, currently held in Rancho San Diego on Thursday nights.
Lessons will be given at New Expression Music.
Item Special Note
Winning Bidder will make arrangements w/ Bari to schedule lessons on agreed upon dates/times. Proceeds raised from this item will go towards Guitars in the Classroom's mission of transforming pre-k through high school classrooms by training teachers to integrate musical learning in lessons in order to increase student engagement, employ oral language practice, and promote student achievement across the academic curriculum. In our free workshops, teachers learn to sing with confidence, play guitar, lead songs, and to select, teach, and facilitate the student writing of educational songs. This daily integration of music with academic learning provides positive, inspiring musical access for all students as part of the regular school day.
