Item Description
Winning bidder receives an heirloom bowl in the Traditional Chulucanas Peruvian Ceramic Design, fired with manog leaves to create smoky colors.
The 12-inch diameter bowl is hand burnished with rock and based on ancient cultural motifs. Chulucanas pottery is made by descendants of indigenous Peruvian artists. Modern artisans researched the negative-positive technique, developed more than 2,000 years ago. Its renewed use has evolved into a variety of shades from light to almost black ocher.
At Ten Thousand Villages, we work with over 130 artisan groups in more than 38 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to bring you fair trade jewelry, home decor, gifts and more.
