Item Description
John is a swinging piano player who places a priority on the depth of feeling of his and the bands music. He has studied with David Hazeltine as well as jazz legend Barry Harris. His recording features standards and 3 original hard bop compositions.
This recording features the late Dennis Irwin playing beautifully in the style he loved to play. The sound and feeling of Dennis and the great Chicago based drummer George Fludas is a thing of beauty.
Mr. Foshager has been a Wisconsin Conservatory of Music faculty member since 1987. B.M. Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. He has performed with a host of local jazz artists such as Hattush Alexander, Berkeley Fudge and Manty Ellis. He has also performed with internationally known artists Spike Robinson, Scott Hamilton, George Braith and Frank Morgan. A WAMI award winner for his work with the Juli Wood Quartet, Mr. Foshager has performed at the Playboy Club in Chicago and venues throughout the Midwest. John also has recorded for the Hal Leonard Company; and an appearance on the WYMS Jazz Sampler.
