Item Description
Minimum Raise: $15.00
This is for three bottles of 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Perrucci Family Vineyard wine.
The 2005 is a second varietal release of Cabernet from the Perrucci Family Vineyard, and like the first, it won multiple awards (Orange County – Bronze, San Francisco – Silver, Sacramento – Gold). It is roughly a 50/50 blend of the “old school” California Clone 4 Cabernet off our Estate in Los Gatos and the newer Clone 337 Cabernet from the Pedregal vineyard in Paicines. 9% Merlot from the Regan Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains rounds it out. If you are not familiar with Paicines, it is located in a small river valley south of Hollister near Cienega. The growing conditions are slightly warmer but similar to our Estate in Los Gatos; warm sunny days with cooler marine influenced nights. The components to this wine were aged separately in small American Oak barrels for two years and released in the Fall of 2008. The results are a stunning balance of fruit, herbs, mild tannins, coffee and a hint of smoke. Perrucci Family Vineyard thinks it is drinking perfectly right now but if they had the storage space, they’d keep it another 5-10 years.
