Item Description

Learn how to fix your bike and the roads you ride it on!

Fix your commute: Does your bike commute make you feel unsafe? Do you avoid riding your bicycle to and from work because of traffic or road conditions? AROW has your back!

Pasteur Ted and Steve B from Active Right Of Way (AROW), a grassroots bicycle advocacy group, will ride with you on your commute, and help you through self-advocacy with the city. During the commute, you can point out all the places where you are uncomfortable or feel unsafe. The ride will take place on a Sunday so you can point out problems without engaging with traffic at the same time.

AROW will take photos, make measurements, discuss possible solutions, and write up a report, including a series of citizen maintenance requests and citizen facility improvement requests. They will walk you through the process of making the requests to the proper bureau. AROW will make sure that the requests contain the technical information for repairs, or include the best practice information for improvements.

You can engage in grassroots transportation advocacy, and make a positive change in your own commute route!

Fix your bike: Through your 6 month membership to Bike Farm, you will learn how to maintain and fix your own two wheels with your own two hands. At Bike Farm, dedicated, helpful and approachable volunteers will walk you through whatever repairs or maintenance your bicycle needs. They even hold special Women's and Transgendered People's Nights regularly to create the most inclusive atmosphere possible.ÿMembership also entitles you to some free workshops.

Bike Farm is an all volunteer-run collective dedicated to every aspect of bicycle education, from safe commuting to repair. Their mission is to provide a space where people can learn about the bicycle and build community around promoting sustainable transportation. We strive to demystify the bicycle in order to impact the city in a healthy and positive way. Your Membership entitles you to full use of shop space and a professional set of tools with the assistance of a mechanic during open hours.
