Item Description

Do you like dealing with different types of chemical materials? Do you have an affinity for exact calculations and formulas?

Well, being a Chemist might be right up your alley.  Spend two hours and lunch with a chemist at D.D. Williamson (they make the carmel color in soft drinks!)

You will see that as a Chemist, you'll do several basic and advanced analytical techniques that provide invaluable information to colleagues and customers. This information is used to ensure that the product has uniformity. It also plays a crucial role in letting people know that they are achieving their target goal by providing hard data. Some of the basic techniques that you might do are pH, density, and color at various wavelengths. While a more advanced technique to do is identifying specific analytes using a Gas Chromatograph coupled with a Mass Spectrometer.

If these things sound like something you are interested in, then becoming a Chemist just might be in your future!
