Presentation High School offers two levels of water polo camp.
Intro to Water Polo: Must be able to swim freestyle and backstroke, as well as be comfortable in deep water. The basics of water polo strokes, passing techniques, and beginning game play will all be covered. Mini scrimmages will be played during the camp times, and fun noodles will be available to assist those who are worried about their treading abilities. No water polo experience necessary.
Learning Water Polo: Recommended for stronger swimmers who are able to swim for extended periods of time and are comfortable in deep water. A more in-depth camp focusing on the fundamentals of water polo (passing, shooting, swimming, defensive position). Front court offense and defense will be emphasized as well as the use of counter attack, goalie techniques, and shooting skills. No water polo experience necessary.
Water polo camp is for girls and boys in grades 6 thru 12 and is held for four days (Monday thru Thursday, three hours per day) during the summer of 2012.
