Item Description
For 40 years, Clowes Memorial Hall of Butler University, a professional performing arts facility, has been dedicated to lifelong learning in and through the arts. Their mission is to educate, enrich, and entertain the citizens of Indiana and the Butler University community by presenting, promoting, and hosting culturally, artistically, and internationally diverse programs, events, and collaborations. Clowes Memorial Hall, opened October 18, 1963, was built in memory of the late Dr. George Henry Alexander Clowes, former research director for Eli Lilly and Company. Dr. Clowes devoted his life to science and the arts. The idea of a multi-purpose hall to serve Indianapolis and the community as a center for all the entertaining arts was conceived by Dr. Clowes. Come experience this beautiful facility and campus for yourself by winning this "Backstage Treasures Tour," scheduled at your convenience.
