Item Description
This is an original oil pastel from the acequia series by artist Dan Godfrey. It depicts a New Mexico acequia and cottonwood tree in the autumn. The unframed painting measures 8" wide by 10" high. It is signed by the artist and dated '10.
Dan Godfrey has been painting as a professional artist since the mid 1960’s after graduating with an MA in Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico in 1962. Dan’s work runs the entire gamut of media and includes watercolor, pastel, oil pastel, pen and ink, oils, acrylics, mixed media and sculpture in metal and stone. His work includes landscapes, portraits, nudes, still lifes and wildlife.
His most recent paintings are in oil pastel, and his inspiration is the Rio Grande.
Dan Godfrey has won top awards, including 1st Place in a statewide competition at the Bardean Miniature yearly exhibit in 1996, judge: Wilson Hurley.
He has written and illustrated several bi-lingual children’s books, including Wildflowers Along Forest and Mesa Trails (University of New Mexico Press, 1984).
Dan Godfrey's landscapes are in private collections in all parts of the world. Exhibits include:

If the winning bidder is a New Mexico resident, this item can be picked up at drop points in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or Socorro after the auction closes. There will be no shipping charge for those who can pick up their winnings.
After the auction close, winning bidders who cannot pick up their item(s) at one of the New Mexico drop points will be contacted for preferred shipping method, and the actual additional shipping cost, including packaging, insurance, and postage, will be charged in addition to the winning bid amount.
