Item Description
Jimmy Carbone is a NYC-based restaurateur, dedicated social entrepreneur, and beer lover. In addition to overseeing daily operations at Jimmy’s No. 43, an East Village bar and restaurant with a focus on unique beers and a greenmarket menu, Jimmy currently produces Food Karma Projects and has served as co-chair for Taste of Tribeca, as a special adviser for The New Amsterdam Market, and was elected as an advisory council member for Greenmarkets GrowNYC in 2010. In 2005 and 2009, Jimmy was recipient of the title “Local Hero” from NYC Arts. He has been featured in Edible Manhattan, Michael Colameco’s Food Show, and Martha Stewart Radio. Jimmy has co-founded and produced “Hungry Filmmakers” – a documentary film screening and discussion series – and The Good Beer Seal – an association of independently owned beer bars in New York City. Through The Good Beer Seal, Jimmy produces several events during the month of July, which has been proclaimed Good Beer Month by the mayor in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Beer Sessions Radio, Jimmy’s latest project, is a conversational format podcast carried on the Heritage Radio Network, where Jimmy and a series of rotating co-hosts discuss the beers, bars, and brewers that make up the craft beer movement.
A day with Jimmy may include: Your day will start with a pint and a chat about the craft beers available at Jimmy's No. 43. Then travel with Jimmy to Brooklyn for a taping of of Heritage Radio Networks' Beer Sessions Radio. There you will meet with beer industry insiders and knowledgeable beer fans from across the country, with guests ranging from local brewers to international beer experts. After the show, it's dinner with the cast and crew at Roberta's, where more great craft beer will be available.
