Gisele Amantea's installations explore questions related to women, class, nostalgia, history, and memory. She has exhibited widely in Canada and internationally. In 2010, a retrospective of her work, Sweet Dreams, Hard Truths, took place at the Musée d’art de Joliette (Québec). In Spring 2012 she will present a large-scale commissioned installation for Oh Canada at MASS MoCA. She lives in Montréal where she teaches at Concordia University.
