Item Special Note

SUBURBIA ROLLER DERBY:  The league was founded in June 2007 by Slim Fast and Suffah Kate, two former Connecticut RollerGirls, and has since attracted approximately 40 women from around the Tri-State area, including experienced former members of other local leagues. In February of 2009, Suburbia Roller Derby became a member of the WFTDA.

Suburbia Roller Derby plays a sport that is aggressive, fast paced, fun, exciting, and 100% REAL. SRD attracts women aged 18 - 50+, from all walks of life, including business owners, educators, artists, health care professionals and stay-at-home moms. It is fully skater-owned and operated.

OUR MISSION:

To provide a healthy, safe environment (both emotionally and physically) for women, ages 18+, to learn and play the sport of flat track roller derby in Westchester County, NY.

  • To cultivate respect, empowerment and athleticism in all of our members.
  • To be a DIY (do-it-yourself) organization - by the skaters, for the skaters - dedicated to playing and    promoting our sport and supporting our sister derby leagues all over the world.
  • To be supportive members of the community, giving back to local organizations whenever possible       through service and volunteerism.
