Item Description
Osmo Vanska has become a Minnesota treasure. Herald spring with this soaring concert, and get swept up in Jean Sibelius' magnificent Symphony No. 4.
Sibelius, a Finnish composer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, played a major role in defining Finland's national identity. Vanska and the Minnesota Orchestra have recently released a Sibelius recording, but this is even better - you'll experience the concert in the always-rich acoustics of Orchestra Hall.
Vanska has had plenty of experience with Sibelius' work - in 1996/97, Vanska also recorded a CD of Sibelius' Symphonies 1-7. He was conducting the Lahti Symphony Orchestra at Church of the Cross in Lahti, Finland.
Two tickets to Vanska Conducts Sibelius at Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis, on March 16, 2012 at 8 pm.
Item Special Note
Tickets are only for the March 16, 2012 Vanska Conducts Sibelius concert at 8 pm.
Item to be mailed to the winner within two weeks of the close of the auction.
