Item Description
Ever wonder what it feels like to ride in a 2,000 horsepower locomotive?
Item offered is a trip for two on a 2,000 horsepower locomotive on the Paducah & Louisville Railway tracks along Dixie Highway across a high elevation trestle and back. This is a unique and educational opportunity. The ride will be in the operator’s cab of the locomotive.

The railroad was purchased from the Illinois Central Railroad in August 1986 and has approximately 210 employees. PALRR, who owns approximately 40 locomotives, moves approximately 200,000 carloads annually (73.5% coal, 12.5% minerals, and 8% other).
Item Special Note
The trip will start at the Paducah & Louisville office at 1135 PAL Road in Louisville and will traverse the mainline past LG&E’s Mill Creek Generating Station, traveling across the elevated Muldraugh Trestle and return. Please allow approximately three hours for the event.
Two weeks advance notice is needed for scheduling the ride and the ride must be scheduled on Saturdays only.
Please schedule this event between April 1 and September 30, 2012.
