Phil Disher is in his second season as an assistant coach at Wofford. He will work with primarily the catchers and hitters during the season as well as assisting with recruiting.
During his four year career at South Carolina he was named All-SEC during his junior and senior seasons while being named to the Division I All-American team for the 2007 season. While his teams made several post season appearances, he was named to two NCAA All-Regional teams as well as two All-SEC tournament teams while being named the MVP of the 2007 Virginia Regional.
He was drafted following the 2007 season by the Giants in the 45th round and then drafted again in 2008 in the 15th round where he signed with Houston. During his first year of pro ball he was named the MVP of the New York-Penn league. He finished playing professionally with the Houston Astros organization when he was forced to retire due to an injury.
