You and two guests will enjoy a inspirational evening and a very unique experience!

The Dolores Huerta Foundation and nationally-acclaimed Biba Restaurant are teaming up to give you and two friends the rare opportunity to have a small, intimate dinner with world-renowned community leader, activist and organizer Dolores Huerta. In this one-of-a-kind experience, you’ll meet who Mills College has lauded “a lifetime champion of social justice whose courageous leadership garnered unprecedented national support from farmworkers, women and underserved communities in a landmark quest for human and civil rights.” At Biba Restaurant, see for yourself why the California Travel Industry named Chef Biba Caggiano Chef of the Year in 1999. Experience the luxurious seasonal menu that inspired Gourmet Magazine to write, “San Franciscans and Angelenos would consider themselves lucky to have an Italian restaurant as authentically Italian as Biba.”

You'll also take home two autographed copies of Biba's latest cookbook Spaghetti Sauces.

About Dolores Huerta

Dolores was an inaugural recipient of the Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights from President Bill Clinton in 1998. That same year, Ladies Home Journal recognized her as one of the 100 Most Important Women of the 20th Century, along with such women leaders as Mother Teresa, Margaret Thatcher, Rosa Parks, and Indira Gandhi. Dolores has received several additional awards in recognition of her numerous achievements, including the Puffin/Nation Prize for Creative Citizenship in 2002, the UCLA Medal (UCLA’s highest individual honor) in 2009 and honorary degrees from Mills College and Princeton University. She was lauded in the Princeton ceremony with: “Through her insatiable hunger of justice—La Causa—and her tireless advocacy, she has devoted her life to creative, compassionate and committed citizenship.

About the Dolores Huerta Foundation

Dolores Huerta founded the Dolores Huerta Foundation in 2002 with the mission “to create a network of organized communities pursuing social justice through systematic and structural transformation.”

The DHF has implemented its organizing model in seven communities in California’s Central Valley. In these communities, full-time trained organizers form neighborhood organizations called Vecinos Unidos (United Neighbors). The Vecinos are trained to collectively engage public officials and navigate the system for the benefit of their communities. The Vecinos have accomplished very much in four strategic priority areas: civic engagement, health & environment, education & youth development and economic development.
