Item Description

Case of vintage California, Spanish, Halian and French wines.

  1. 2006 Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino
"Bright, dark red. Knockout perfume of black cherry, black raspberry, minerals, violet, rose petal and a whiff of dark chocolate. Silky on entry, then almost painfully intense in the middle, with terrific backbone and acidity to the classy fruit, mineral and dark chocolate flavors. Finishes with a compelling savory quality, a spine of noble tannins and outstanding subtle persistence." 95 points. Steven Tanzer, International Wine Cellar. Anticipated maturity: 2-14-20." 93 points. Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate
  2. 2005 Lan (Rioja)
80% tempranillo, 15% mazuelo, and 5% graciano, "A hard shell of tannins cracks to offer sweet dried cherry and dark chocolate flavors, intense and vibrant, with accents of cranberry, rhubarb and mineral. It's powerful, yet remains light on its feet. Drink now through 2015. 3,000 cases made." 91 points. Wine Spectator. This wine was named to Wine Spectator’s list of the 100 best wines reviewed in 2007.  92 points. Steven Tanzer, International Wine Cellar.
  3. 2008 Hall Winery Cabernet Savignon (Napa Valley)
"A dense, full bodied wine with lots of creme de cassis, charcoal, licorice and forest floor, the wine is opulent and already delicious and powerful. It should continue to drink well for at least 12-15 years." 95 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.
  4. 2008 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
"Open fruit, rich, lush and layered, serving up a complex mix of plum, blackberry, black licorice and spices. Full-bodied and supple-textured, ending with a long, persistent finish that keeps repeating the core flavor themes. Drink now through 2018."  93 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.
  5. 2006 Wattle Creek Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Vintage Select (four 750 ml  bottles)
Opaque purple to edge. Flamboyant aromas of blueberry jam and currants, laced with new wood vanilla. Rich, dense and powerful on the attack, filled with a creme-de-cassis core -- silken in texture with perfectly resolved small berry tannins.  Drink now for its still primary fruit opulence or age for up to 7 years in a cool cellar.  Only 225 cases produced. **No longer available for purchase**
Rating - Came in a close second at a NYC sommeliers blind tasting of big '06 Napa Cabs, finishing just behind the Anderson Conn Valley Estate (94 by Parker) and ahead of Groth, Sequoia Grove, two Silver Oaks, and Michael Keenan's superb '06.
  6. Chateau de Fonbel Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2005 (four bottles)
Parker scored 92 points out of 100 (drinking well now, lasting for another decade or more).  The Wine Advocate:  Alain Vauthier, who owns this small estate and also Chateau Ausone, has been ratcheting up the quality of Fonbel just as he has at his more well known properties.  ** This wine is no longer available for purchase.**Drink between 2013 and 2018
