Item Special Note
This donation is inspired by the thoughts of Clarissa Pinkola Estes in her newly published book Untie the Strong Woman. To paraphase: Black Madonna can be understood as standing at the dividing line between waking consciousness and dreaming consciousness...wherein one side is often much more outwardly, the mundane world of known facts. And the other side is much more revealing of the interior psyche--the deeper roots, the actual basis for healing, seeing, and believing.Right there at the juncture point the Black Madonna stands. She is portrayed as black because she radiates "black light" that allows us to see byword the mundane..and into the deeper aspects of the world.
