Item Description
Step back in time when you tour historic Glensheen, a 39-room Jacobean Revival mansion on the shores of Lake Superior. Located about a mile north of Canal Park in Duluth, the beautiful brick mansion was designed by Minnesota architect Clarence Johnston and completed in 1908 for the Congdon family. The home is on the National Register of Historic Places and remains nearly exactly as it was at the turn of the last century. See the magnificent craftsmanship, formal English gardens, and the grandeur of extreme wealth. You'll learn how a large estate was kept running smoothly without all of our modern conveniences.
There's even an element of the macabre associated with the mansion. In 1977, heiress Elizabeth Congdon and her nurse were murdered in the house. Some claim to have witnessed ghost sightings. Could it be haunted?
Two tickets to tour Glensheen, The Historic Congdon Estate in Duluth MN.
