Item Description
As a longtime staffer at the New York Times, Amanda has written more than 750 stories, created the columns Food Diary and Recipe Redux, and was the food editor at the Times Magazine. She has written the award-winning books Cooking for Mr. Latte and The Cook and the Gardener, and edited the essay collection, Eat, Memory. Her latest book, a New York Times bestseller and the winner of a James Beard award, is The Essential New York Times Cookbook.
In addition to working with Amanda on The Essential New York Times Cookbook, Merrill has also written for the Times' T Living, Edible Brooklyn, Body+Soul and Culinate.com, and she was the food editor at Herb Quarterly. She lives with her husband in Park Slope, Brooklyn and so far, has been too afraid to join the tough-love Park Slope Food Co-op.
The two now run the wildly successful food community Food52, which started as a year long experiment to build a crowd-sourced cookbook.
A day with Amanda and Merrill may include: Getting a behind the scene look at the recipes, food photography, and effort that goes into one of the best food blogs.
