Item Description
8 1/2" x 11" Matted Formulart created by artist Ken Baltes
F(Square)=4(4C to 1S) + 2(2C to 2S)
This drawing has 6 squares in it. The upper right and lower left squares use the formula 2C to 2S and the other 4 squares use the 4C to 1S set of lines. 4C to 1S became the basis for many of the drawings.
Formulart is created by drawing straight lines on geometric figures. The artist's goal was to create the appearance of movement in the drawings and in some cases to represent organic figures, all with straight lines.
A formula can be written to describe the geometric form on which the lines are drawn and to indicate the start and ending place of each line. As the name formulart?? implies, the result is art created by formula.
It should be noted that formulart?? drawings are hand drawn, not computer generated.
