Michael Anthony is the Executive Chef at Gramercy Tavern. After graduation from Indiana University with degrees in Business, French, and Japanese, Anthony moved to Tokyo, where he found his passion for food. Culinary School in Paris followed by working in some of the best kitchens in the world, led Michael to Blue Hill Stone Barns. There he had the opportunity, along with Chef-owner Dan Barber, to build a restaurant that embodied the “farm to table” concept. After four years at Blue Hill Stone Barns, Anthony returned to New York as the Executive Chef of Gramercy Tavern, where he is active in the local community, giving tours students from nearby elementary schools, and starting a greenhouse project at Washington Irving High School.
A day with Michael Anthony may include: Spending the day in the kitchen with Michael, cooking and discussing his dedication to the Green Market philosophy and culinary excellence.
