Item Description
An original artist's proof of Pattie Brooks 1979 album Party Girl cover art. Her third album Party Girl was produced by Bunny Sigler of Instant Funk and Salsoul fame, a varied album that encompassed funk, pop and a big ballad as well as pure disco. While the album spawned no huge singles it did include "Got Tu Go Disco", the title song from a notorious Broadway flop musical.
In a world of digital downloads, the art of the album cover has been lost. But from the 1950s to the 1980s, album cover art was both a marketing tool and an expression of artistic intent.
The artist's proofs were typically destroyed once the album went to print. However, a few were salvaged and now considered to be collectors items. They are truly one-of-a-kind.
