Item Description
The Beehive restaurant/jazz bar (in Boston's South End) is providing an exclusive 3-course wine dinner for 6 people led by their very knowledgeable and notable general manager and sommelier Bertil Jean-Chronberg. Wine will complement each of the 3 courses, surrounded by this unique atmosphere.
Bertil comes from Southwestern France and has taught his love of wine and liqueurs at the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality and at LaSalle College, both in Montreal. He won 3rd place in the best Sommelier World Contest in 1996 (Quebec).
The Beehive is a neighborhood cafe des artistes. Located in the underbelly of the Cyclorama building, the former boiler room has the look and feel of an artist's studio, complemented by works of art and musical entertainment (mostly jazz) of local artists. The "starving artist" bar offers a collage of rustic, artisanal fare from Europe, the Mediterranean, and America.
Located at the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA), 541 Tremont St., Boston, MA www.beehiveboston.com
From a previous winner of this item: "What a fantastic night! Bertil was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide as we sampled the wines of the world. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. And the food was outstanding -- delicious, aromatic, just the right sized portions. It was a night to remember. We are still talking about it almost a year later!"
