Item Description
Original Artist's Proof of 1979 album Black Sheep by Jan Hammer. Hammer gained his most visible audience while playing keyboards with the Mahavishnu Orchestra in the early 1970s, as well as his film scores for television and film including "Miami Vice Theme" and "Crockett's Theme", from the popular 1980s program, Miami Vice.
In a world of digital downloads, the art of the album cover has been lost. But from the 1950s to the 1980s, album cover art was both a marketing tool and an expression of artistic intent.
The artist's proofs were typically destroyed once the album went to print. However, a few were salvaged and now considered to be collectors items. They are truly one-of-a-kind.
