Item Description
Carol Bolt's imagery is attractive and appealing, After all, who could hate flowers. However, Ms. Bolt's compositions have more to recommend then than the superficial attractiveness of subject.
Ms. Bolt is a rarity. She is serious botanical artist. Few practitioners of this fine and exciting craft remain. Indeed, she is so prominent in her field that she instructs at the New York Horticulture Society.
Prints of botanical art are becoming increasingly rare and are highly prized collectors items. The nature of the work requires remarkable qualities, a fine eye combined with a sure hand and a precise sense of color and grasp of form. The work is extremely time consuming and exacting. Serious flower paintings requires an enormous amount of looking and fastidious rendering. The thin transparent planes of color which make for the final image are painted with utter precision.
Signed and numbered by artist in pencil (405/500) Image size 27" x 20.5"
