Item Description

"Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story," narrated by Dustin Hoffman and written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Ira Berkow, has received rave reviews at Jewish film festival showings around the country.

This 91-minute documentary includes a wonderful recent interview with Sandy Koufax as well as great interviews with Kevin Youkilis, Al Rosen, and other players and personages, plus some great baseball as well as old newsreel footage setting the background of American Jewish life in the 20th century.

Martin Abramowitz, Jewish Major Leaguers' Founder, is donating two copies of "Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story," and will meet you for coffee or give a group presentation to anyone interested in baseball and the American Jewish experience.

Item Special Note

About JML's Founder, Martin Abramowitz

Martin Abramowitz, part-time President, CEO and file-clerk of JML is available on a selective basis for "road-trip" presentations to groups with an interest in Jews in baseball. Bnai Brith has called Martin "America's custodian of Jewish baseball memory." In "real life," Martin previously held Jewish communal professional leadership positions in Jerusalem, Montreal and Boston. He holds a doctorate in social welfare from Brandeis University. Martin is a father of four and grandfather to seven.

A New York native, Martin insists there is no truth to the Baltimore Sun's allegation that he is "a Yankee fan living undercover in Red Sox Nation."
