Experience some of the best the Bay Area has to offer. Join wine grower Frank Leeds (P'07) for a personal tour and tasting of Frog's Leap Winery. Frog Leap's 130 acres, historic Red Barn and Napa Valley are your backdrop as you learn about organic farming, the vineyard's 100% solar powered system, and all the ways Frog's Leap is committed to sustainable wine making. As they say at Frog's Leap, "Time is fun when you're having flies!"
Also included is biking the Napa Valley. Your Napa resident Ole hosts will drop you and bicycles (host-provided) at Bouchone Bakery for breakfast pastries and coffee. You will then criss cross Napa Valley by bicycle, stopping at wineries for tastings before ending your ride at Restaurant Tra Vigne in St. Helena. Your Ole hosts will pick you up (and bikes) following dinner and return you to your lodging.
We're not done yet! Enjoy a tour and tasting at Bartholomew Park. Founded in 1994 with a vision to produce handcrafted, site-specific wines, Bartholomew Park's 37-acre Estate Vineyard is located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range in Sonoma Valley. The unique setting of this vineyard, tucked up against Arroyo Seco, enjoys warm temperatures, constant breezes and excellent drainage typical of higher elevation sites.
Finally take in a ball game! AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, is the best experience in major league baseball. And there is nothing quite like sitting down on the field, so close that you can smell the grass, feel the pop of the leather, and hear the crack of the bat. At a date to be determined by you, you will have your choice of either: 1. Four seats in Section 128, Row 11 for a 2012 Giants game. OR 2. Two seats for in Section 128, along with pre- and post-game recreation (food, drinks, sightseeing, and a personal tour of the ballpark) with Dr. Vijay Mehrotra '86, who has been in the Bay Area for 25 years and will provide you with a unique perspective on your experience.
