Do you remember the movie Disclosure when Demi Moore tempted Michael Douglas with a bottle of 91 Pahlmeyer and his excited exclamation how did you know about that? Only 400 cases were made of the Pahlmeyer that debuted in 1989. Today, Pahlmeyer is known by everybody, but still accessed by few with only about 1200 cases made of the 2006. You dont need Demi Moore to tell you, just listen to Parker who said Things just seem to get better and better at Pahlmeyer". He gave this Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 95 points (he gave the famous 1991 only 92), and Tanzer and Spectator bestowed 90+. Tasting notes cite sensational Burgundian style Chardonnay with leesy notes of brioche, nectarine, honeysuckle, orange rind, and some pear and pineapple. Beautiful fruit, full body, great acidity, and a textured mouthfeel also sleek-bodied, with perfumed floral, honeysuckle, fig, melon and citrus blossom scents that give this a lovely aroma. Elegant and refined on the palate, with mineral and wet stone notes. If that isn't enough, did you know that the popular band 'Kings of Leon' request Pahlmeyer as one of their standard backstage treats when on tour? Their drummer is a serious wine collector.
