Item Description
Named after Swiss immigrant Andrew Frei who settled in Sonoma in the 1880s, Parker calls Frei a "value-priced gem in the Gallo stable". Awarded with a solid 88 Point rating by Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, this Chardonnays perfumed floral, melon, fig and honeysuckle flavors are pure and elegant in this full-bodied white, which ends with a strong, persistent fruity aftertaste. Parker noted it "pushes its wood component well to the background, emphasizing white peach, honeysuckle and white citrus characteristics offered in a crisp, clean, medium-bodied style". Bottom line: this is a wonderful wine to drink now through 2014.
